ok so, here i am at elmhurst for art and business, but im going to culinary school to be a pastry chef after this.

options:

how has dessert been an integral part of family functions in the united states? (or something)

how is food indicative of culture?

how has the bakery industry been effected by low carb diets?

the benefits of buying organic/ local crop sustainability

I like your different approach to these topics! No one has said anything about food yet...yumm...however I'm not sure you'll get enough information on any of these sources. If you can, that's great! This would definitely be an original paper. I think your best bet would be to go w/ topic 2, that way you can also branch out into culture a little bit. Hopefully you can find material there.

I agree with jameela that your topics may be too narrow...however...you could combine two interesting topics. I think "how has the bakery industry been affected by low carb diets?" could be linked with "how has dessert been an integral part of family functions in the U.S."

but i think food and culture is also a good topic, since there are so many different cultures to study.

The food indicative of culture and the organic food questions are the most controversial. I think one of those would be the best topic. They will be easiest to write as well.

I like the first one! And I agree with Leona, you could probably do a research paper on 2 of those topics.

Organic food is interusting. some people hate it, i love it.

and Props for the fist one. that made me laugh, if you did that, and made it work that would be BEYOND amazingly cool.

I like the last one. For one of my classes we're focusing on that during the month of October.
